Margaret Walton has practiced law since 1983 as a member of a Sacramento litigation firm and as a sole practitioner. She has practiced family law exclusively in Sacramento, Placer, El Dorado, Yolo and San Joaquin counties since 1988.

 Margaret is a Certified Family Law Specialist, a title conferred by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. The title signifies that Margaret has demonstrated—by written examination, experience in the field, and evaluations by attorneys and judges familiar with her work—superior expertise in the field of Family Law. Moreover, she has received extensive post graduate education in mediation and conflict resolution.

 Since 1991, Margaret has served as a Judge Pro Tem for family law settlement conferences in Sacramento County. In this capacity, she has presided over scores of hearings that have resulted in divorcing couples and their legal counsel reaching settlement agreements without need of a trial.

  Margaret was drawn to family law by her unwavering commitment to the welfare of children. This commitment extends to her personal life in which, among other things, she has served as Board President of the Stanford Home for Children.

 Margaret received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Government from California State University at Sacramento. She received her Juris Doctor from University of California at Davis, School of Law.

 Sacramento native Debbie Keller has worked as a Family Law Legal Assistant since 1990. Her 20-plus years of experience in the family law field and her meticulous attention to detail ensure that no procedural aspect of a client’s divorce is overlooked no matter how complex the case.

 Since 1980, Debbie has served as the

Executive Director of the Capitol City Trial Lawyers Association, which provides continuing education for Sacramento trial lawyers. Her involvement with the association has given her a special appreciation for the intricacies of trial preparation.

 As a mother, Debbie is especially compassionate about and sensitive to the effects of divorce on children.

 Judy has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Rhetoric and a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of California at Berkeley.

She also holds a Paralegal Degree from MTI, having graduated among the top in her class. Her experience of running her own marketing business for 10 years gives her a special understanding of issues that arise from business ownership in divorce cases.
